RACE DAY FORECAST: Sunny and breezy with lows around 40ᵒ F and highs around 70ᵒ F. Sunrise is at 7:30, with a full moon on race day!
RACE PACKET PICKUP FOR MARATHONERS AND HALF MARATHONERS: Packet pickup will start at 4 p.m. on October 11 and has been extended until 8 p.m. The pickup location will be the HOLE-IN-THE-ROCK ESCALANTE HERITAGE CENTER, 1300 East Route 12, Escalante, UT. Look for the covered wagon!
RACE BIBS AND SHIRTS FOR THE 5K FUN RUN: Race bib pickup will be at 1 p.m. on October 12 at the PEOPLES EXCHANGE, an old brick building across the street from Escalante City Park. We don’t have dedicated 5K t-shirts, but at the finish line 5K runners can choose from among marathon and half
marathon t-shirts, with sizes and styles subject to availability. You do not need to pick up a packet on October 11.
PRE-RACE DINNER: Along with packet pickup, the pre-race dinner will be at the ESCALANTE HERITAGE CENTER, at a cost of $10/plate for registered runners, $12/plate for non-registered family and friends, and $6/plate for children 12 and under. The dinner will include various dishes, including the classic pre-race pasta.
POST-RACE REFRESHMENTS: Along with the usual refreshments, you can look forward to homemade cherry pies (made with cherries harvested in Escalante) and homemade pumpkin pies!
ESCALANTE HERITAGE DAYS: Our partner, Escalante Heritage Days, will offer additional activities for visitors and the community at the Heritage Center and in Escalante City Park, including a Lions Club breakfast at the park on race day morning.
BEER GARDEN: This is the item that may be of most interest to some of you! At a nominal cost, post-race beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered along with popcorn and several other goodies at the ESCALANTE SHOWHOUSE, 50 W Main St. It will open on race day at noon and go until 4 or 5 p.m. The entry to the Beer Garden will be from Escalante City Park.
